Days 101 to 103 - Memorial Day Weekend

So Saturday I was very good, but had a crap dinner, but still came in under the limit. Sunday was rather stressful with Mark cursing all over the place about breaking my car. After HOURS of working on it a second day in a row I told him I wanted a real dinner but we picked Acapulco Mexican Restaurant who has recently put the calorie counts on their menu and I realized the ONLY thing I could eat there was the tableside guac. Monday I had my left overs and we had pasta for dinner (the only food in the house) and since I had gone for a run I decided I didn't care if I went over I was going to eat mini Reeses cups with my glass of wine. And WTF? lost weight. Go figure.

Day 100 - I'm calling this officially down 20 lbs.

The WW scale is still saying 156.7 but the scale I started this whole thing with is still saying 155.5 so I added them together and divided by two and it's 156.1 which is 20 less than the 176 I started at. We'll see where I land in another 100 days.

Yesterday I went for a run at lunch - 2nd attempt to do F210k Week 2, but I had my brand new phone in my pocket and it started POURING rain so instead of trying to go a LITTLE further to keep running the last 4 minutes, I opted to get my phone into the house and out of the not-water-proof pocket of my jacket. Then after work I went to the gym and rode their "virtual reality" bike for 15 minutes and then lifted weights for another 15-20. I even tried out a hula-hoop 'cause NOBODY was there, and it turns out they were filled with water so it kinda hurt. Maybe next time I'll see if I can still jump rope. I swear I'm the ONLY person who goes there on Fridays.

Then this morning I popped outta bed at 10:30am and did some gardening and yard work till after 1pm before I stopped for lunch. I think that's enough exercise for the WHOLE weekend. The gym is closed on Memorial day, so I'll see about finishing Week 2 F210k then.

Saturday morning 156.7 (or 155.5) lbs

Breakfast
1/2 cup Milk (Nonfat) - 43

1/8 cup shredded Part Skim Mozzarella Cheese - 43

1 REESE PB CUP MINIS - 44
1 serving Smooth & Dreamy Ice Cream Sandwiches - Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough - 160

Day 99 - in which dieter gets a new Android phone that has a WAY better app

So we planned for the last two weeks for me to go sell my wares at Last Thursday, packed up my racks in the car and everything only to be faced with a day where it would NOT stop raining. Seeing as how the majority of the things I wanted to sell were FEATHERED, I had to cancel my plans. The backup plan included shopping for a new phone (oh, great, instead of MAKING money, I was off spending it. Such is life). I had several hard and fast requrements such as a real keyboard, 4G and that it be compatible with this new program I want to use called Square which is supposed to make taking credit cards a cinch.

And the winner is: The new 4G Tmobile Sidekick. I am not in love with the keyboard placement - it's a little awkward to get my little fingers around the side panels to reach it, but the features are WONDERFUL. One of the great things is that with the Android version of "Fat Secret", the app I've been using to keep track of all my calorie intake is way better than the Blackberry version. I will never have to type out my food detail again because I can export it from the phone AND I will never again have to type INTO it when I have a food that's not in the database because I can BARCODE SCAN IT. Woohoo!

Anyway, Friday morning, 156.7 lbs

Day 98 - the scale moved!

So I was so frustrated by seeing the same number every day for a week, that I took my friend Daniel's advice which was apparently a Weight Watchers motto or some thing. He said "even if you're doing everything right, do something different." So in my madness, I decided I didn't care if the scale went up or down, I just wanted it to change. So after work I ran to the gym (literally, 2 miles - I did almost all of Week 2 Day 1 of F210k but didn't quite finish it) and took what I thought was going to be an aerobics class, but turned out to be an Abs class. OMG. So this teeny-tiny little Ukranian woman had us crunching and stuff for 30 minutes - I thought I was going to die. But I was in good company because the roly-poly girl behind me was struggling as much (or more) than I was. I had to give her props for trying, she was really round. I do NOT envy the apple shaped gals. I'll take my hour-glass ANY day.

So when I thought it was going to be an hour aerobics class I had arranged for Mark to pick me up after, but since it was half hour I thought I'd just finish my run and walk the rest of the way home. Sadly, my podcast would not let me pick up where I left off, I was going to have to start from the beginning again. That wasn't so bad, but the sun finally came out and I hadn't worn a hat (it was practically raining when I left the house) and my whole trip home was right into the sun, so halfway home I had Mark come get me to save me from squinting.

Then, after all that work (and because I was DYING for some fried rice) Mark and I made pork fried rice using some fresh picked green onions from the garden and it was SO YUMMY I had more than I would have usually, figuring that eating more would be "something different" and then had a dessert AND a snack so I went over my calories by almost 300, BUT IT WORKED!

Friday morning, 156.7 lbs BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!  I was so happy about that I checked it on my old digital scale and it said 155.5 lbs! So now I don't know what to think.... and I guess I'll just keep reporting what both scales say as long as they are different (the whole time the Weight Watchers scale said 157.8 the other one said 157.5 which is the best it can do).

Food detail:
Raisin Bran Crunch - 190
1/2 cup skim milk - 43
Bistro Smokehouse BBQ salad - 260
4 servings fat free cool whip - 60
1.5 cups pork fried rice - 502
Snackwells fudge drizzled chocolate chip cookies - 100
cheddar rice cake - 45
Special K bar - 90

total = 1290

Day 97

SO, last Thursday there was a Groupon for a 2 month membership to this private women-only gym near my house for only $26, and I had been meaning to check it out anyway so I went ahead and got it. I went for the first time Friday and was THE ONLY ONE THERE sweet! Then I went again Monday and there were only 4 people there and turns out I even knew one of them, she's a friend who works with Mark and throws awesome Halloween parties.

Anyway, I finished Week 1 of F210k on a treadmill which has it's advantages, to be sure, but also some disadvantages. For one, I sweat a LOT more - or at least seem to - since the wind isn't rushing past me cooling me off. The advantages are easy - no curbs, traffic, gravel, dogs, kids on bikes, etc. But it's a little monotonous, and you can't just slow down when you are getting tired unless you push a button. And when you are trying to keep a certain pace, you don't want to do that.

I was going to go again last night and lift some weights, but we walked the dogs to the grocery store instead. Tonight I am meeting my friend there for the aerobics class! We'll see how that goes.

Wednesday morning - STILL FREAKING 157.8! I have no idea how I can eat different things EVERY SINGLE DAY and have wildly varying levels of activity and still weigh the EXACT same. I figured when I got a scale that could calculate down to a tenth of a pound that I'd at least see the tiny movements up and down, but this is getting ridiculous!

Food detail:

Fiber one shredded wheat - 200
1/2 cup skim milk - 43
Bistro Chicken Caesar - 230
ER light vanilla ice cream cup - 100

Day 96

Man, I had just finished typing the ENTIRE thing, and the power went out.

It just wont sound natural or original if I have to type it again. :(

Maybe I'll tell you about my new gym membership tomorrow.

and I'm NOT typing out the food detail again. Here's the short version - I ate stuff.

Day 95 - the Pug Crawl disaster and the following cookies.

So the Pug Crawl happened. And from the moment we put our costumes on at the car, we started to get the excited comments and photos taken and the prediction "oh you're totally going to win!" and as usual, they were all wrong. I just don't get how you can be the single biggest crowd pleaser and not even make the top 5.

So after the winner was announced, we grabbed our blanket and went home. Trying to avoid all the people on the way out who always find it necessary to tell us we were robbed and that we should have won. Yeah. Thanks.

So I went home and ate cookies and pouted.

1/2 cup skim milk - 43
Pyramid apricot beer - 165

Days 93 and 94

So I've hit the dreaded "plateau". Apparently. Because it wasn't the scale. I went out and bought a brand new Weight Watchers scale that does everything except predict the weather and it has said 157.8 for 3 days.

4 oz rum - 257

Day 92

The scale Mark bought for me 93 days ago is not working. I mean, it was always a little finicky, giving different readings depending on where you put it on the floor, and I didn't like that it only gave increments of half a pound, but now it's done it. It's done pissed me off. There's NOTHING I did yesterday that should have provoked this kind of response, so I'm calling it busted. I mean how the HELL can you weigh more AFTER you go to the bathroom? I mean really?

So at lunch today, I'm going to buy a scale that can count in .2 lb increments. Maybe it will tell the truth. Though it's also possible that it will tell me I weigh 5lbs more than this one, so whatever.

And I even ran Week 1 day 2 of F210k yesterday!

Friday morning, 157.5 lbs

Food detail:

Fiber One frosted shredded wheat - 200
1/2 cup skim milk - 43
2 98% fat free hot dogs - 80

1 oz rum - 64

total = 971

Day 91

It was REALLY hard not to over-eat today. Somehow I ate most of my calories before dinner so I didn't have many left and I had to try OH SO HARD not to snack after dinner. But I did it.

Thursday morning, 156.5 lbs

Food detail:

Kashi waffles - 150
Peanut butter and jelly sandwich (ER bread - 165, 1/2 serving reduced fat PB - 90, tablespoon grape jelly - 50)

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Day 90... 3 months in... and not quite halfway :(

I had hoped that this could be my "halfway point," some reason to celebrate, the indicator of progress, but alas, this past weekend ruined all that. Not even celery can fix this. Went for a run last night and nothing. no change :(

Wednesday morning, 158 lbs

Food detail:

deep chocolate muffin top - 100
1.25 servings Kashi GoLean crunch - 250
1/2 cup skim milk - 43
Mac and Cheese (as packaged) - 240

100 pak pringles - 100
mousse temtations jello pudding - 60

total = 1045

Tuesday, May 17, 2011

Day 89

Sadly, it now looks like there is no WAY I'll reach my "halfway goal". Tomorrow marks 90 days - that's 3 months out of the six I predicted it will take to loose 41lbs. And with my weekend of beer, twizzlers, pizza and cinnapie, I am still up 1.5 lbs from Saturday morning. An important lesson, I suppose, is that if I slip up one day, I CANNOT do it again the very next day. And really, I had no business eating the cinnapie at all. Even the 3 slices of pizza were forgivable, and reasonable - and less than I usually have, lol.

Tuesday morning, 158 lbs

Food detail:

ER vanilla yogurt - 60
Baked potato and skin of another - 331
1 Tablespoon ICBINTB - 45
the last 3 Twizzlers - 113

Day 88. Pizza Day.

As readers from Day 1 may remember, three days before I started this diet was my birthday and for dinner that night we got a heart-shaped cheese pizza from Papa Johns. We've had "a slice" of pizza once or twice since that day, but had not ordered a whole pizza since. Until yesterday. Mark woke up in one of those moods where he really just wanted to stay on the sofa all day and order pizza. It's so rarely that he actually asks for anything that I am compelled to oblige him. I should have stayed far away from the computer while he was ordering, because one look at the little picture of Cinnapie and we had to add that to the order. What a HUGE mistake. I told him he would have to make me do 100 situps in exchange. That does not even come CLOSE to being a fair exchange. I had over 1000 calories in Cinnapie ALONE. Bad, Bad Bad, Bad Girl. But I did do 80 crunches and 20 pushups.

Monday morning, 158 lbs.

Food detail:

3 slices cheese pizza - 630
2 servings Cinnapie - 1220

total = 1750

Sunday, May 15, 2011

Days 86 and 87

So Friday I was good. Saturday... not so much. But then, I had instituted a new policy. On race days, I can eat whatever I want. We'll see how this goes.

Saturday morning, 156.5 lbs

Food detail:

Kashi GoLean Crunch - 200
1/2 cup skim milk - 43
deep chocolate vitatop - 100
6 oz ribeye - 295
1 cup mashed potatoes - 210
pint of cider - 163

total = 1010

Before the race, I had some waffles, then we didn't eat again until we got home and cleaned up and had leftovers. From there I ran a bunch of errands and "accidentally" bought a package of Twizzlers. MMMM.... it had been AGES - ok, at LEAST 87 days since I'd had any. Needless to say, the entire package is gone. Mark helped a little, but still. And most of the food totals below are complete guesses.

Sunday morning, surprisingly still 156.5 lbs

Food detail:

Kashi 7 grain waffles - 150
1/2 cup Orange Juice - 56
6 oz ribeye - 295
1 cup mashed potatoes - 210
blackened chicken salad at BackAlley bar (lettuce, cheese, croutons, chicken) - 279
2 tablespoons ranch dressing - 140
3 bud light lime beers - 348
Twizllers - 420

total guess = 1898

Friday, May 13, 2011

Day 85

Checked in at the Livestrong, "calories per hour" website again to see if I am supposed to be eating less again, and sadly, yes, it says that if I continue to list my lifestyle as "sedentary" I will have to reduce to 963 calories per day which I just don't think is possible for me, so I'm going to have to start exercising more regularly to maintain the loss. Needless to say, I am NOT looking forward to this part. Going for a run 2-3 times a week while eating 1000 calories a day is one thing, working your butt off and still not being able to pig out is quite another.

Friday morning, 157 lbs

Food detail:

ER light vanilla yogurt - 60
Stouffers homestyle classics baked chicken breastt - 250
SC low fat carmel cone ice cream - 170
1 98% fat free hot dog - 40
1 slice ER honey white bread - 65
Suki's dinner salad (1 cup mixed greens, 1/2 cup sliced cucumber, 1/4 cup shredded mozzerella, 1/2 cup mushroom slices) - 110
1 tablespoon ranch - 73
slice garlic bread - 96
1 oz rum - 64

total = 928

Thursday, May 12, 2011

Day 84

Six days left until my three month point. About halfway through. And what do ya know? I am almost halfway to my goal. This makes me glad. 19 down, 22 to go.

Thursday morning, 157 lbs

Food detail:

Kashi GoLean crunch cereal - 200
1/2 cup skim milk - 43
1 can progresso light roasted chicken and vegetable soup - 140
SC low fat carmel cone ice cream cup - 170
Fiber One chewy granola bar - 90
medium baked potato (Mark forgot to weigh it) - 194
Green Giant broccoli and cheese - 40
1 serving fat free sour cream - 20
mousse temptations Jello pudding - 60
pringles 100 pack - 100
3 servings Fat Free Cool whip - 45

total = 1102

Wednesday, May 11, 2011

Day 83, in which I run 4 miles in EXACTLY one hour.

It hurt. It hurt a lot. The entire last mile I kept saying to myself that I was going to call Mark and have him come pick me up. Just as soon as the music changed to the walk portion at the end, I was gonna call. But it didn't change. And home just kept getting closer. And my legs just kept running. And a mere 3 blocks from home (if that) the music changed, and there was no POINT in calling, because it would have taken him longer to put his tools away and get in the truck than it would for me to just walk the rest of the way home. So I did it. I made it.

Wednesday morning, 157 lbs

Food detail:
Kashi Go Lean crunch cereal - 200
1/2 cup skim milk - 43
leftover cheesesteak - 261
leftover not-so-fresh-the-2nd-day chips - 140
ER low fat vanilla ice cream cup - 100
1.6 oz pork chop - 84
splash of egg beaters for coating - 6
2.5 saltines for breading - 32
4.2 oz oven baked potato cubes - 86
Snackwells fudge drizzled chocolate chip cookies - 100

total = 1101

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

Day 82

When you eat real food, that creates "real food leftovers" and that creates problems for the rest of the week. It's fine to save up all my calories on Friday so that I can have Pad See-ew for dinner, but that means at some point I'm having leftovers for lunch and that's more calories than I generally want to spend on lunch. Even the dog helping herself to it while I went to get the mail didn't really help. I was a grumpy gus all night because I couldn't really have dinner. Plus I swept the whole house, did the dishes, took out the trash and recycling and my stupid car decided to stay broken so Mark was "in a mood".

Tuesday morning, 158.5 lbs

Food detail:

chocolate vitatop - 100
leftover Pad See-ew - 570 (though, since it was mostly broccoli, I fail to see how it could really be THAT many calories)
ER vanilla low fat ice cream - 100
Fiber One chewy granola bar - 90
9 grain thinwich - 90
1 serving ER traditional hummus - 45
Pop secret kettle corn - 100

total = 1095

Monday, May 9, 2011

Days 80 and 81, in which we plant some trees.

I don't know, 3 days in a row of eating real food, I could get used to this!

Saturday morning I had toast and then headed out to a place 3 miles east of Sandy, OR to buy some trees from a guy off Craigslist who was selling evergreens, 5 for $40 for 5 footers. By the time we got home with them, it was time for me to rush off to my facial appointment (why do I ever think I will look good after a facial?) and then came home and ate a hotdog and then we had to rush off to Beaverton (practically Hillsboro) to pick up two red tipped Photinia Fraseri bushes for FREE off Craigslist. Someone was re-doing their backyard and they weren't a part of the plan, so we dug them out (super easy, with shallow roots like they had) and plopped them in the pickup and took them home and got them in the ground. PERFECT cover to hide the nasty neighbor behind us. I wont be happy till we completely obscure that stupid pink rope he has strung between the posts of the property line. Anyway, got the other 5 in the ground before we were beat down tired (he dug 6 of the holes, I dug one) and I named all the evergreens so I could remember what kind of tree they were. Alice is an Austrian pine, Bob is a Balsam pine, Doug is a Douglas Fir and Greg and Gretta are Grand Firs. The Photinas don't have names. I'm not sure why.

Then we showered and headed off to Suki's and had the best damn cheeseburger ever. And then we went home. Because our normal KJ was off "sick" (we heard hung-over).

Sunday morning, 158.5

Food detail:

1 slice ER honey white - 65
1/2 tablespoon I can't believe its not butter - 23
98% fat free hot dog - 40
hot dog bun - 110
fortune cookie - 25
1/4 lb cheeseburger - 552
french fries - 112
Hornsby cider - 180
Breyers ice cream sandwich - 160

total = 1266

Then Sunday we were supposed to drive to a place south of Salem, OR to pick up some poplar trees, but the guy claims to not have a phone (?), would only communicate by email, and wouldn't give an address (only "directions") so we told him to screw it (nicely), and headed out to do a tour of all the garden centers we could find. We started local at Portland Nursery which was WAY overpriced, headed to Tony's Garden Center in Gresham which was slightly overpriced, though we may go back there for some little hedge plants to fill in the front fence and get a lilac tree, then we headed down towards Woodburn to Garden World. On the way, we stopped for lunch at Boston's Grill and Pub in Wilsonville since we'd only had a slice of toast for breakfast again. Third day in a row of read food. Cheesesteak. Wow.

Then continued down to Hubbard, OR to Garden World and were SHOCKED by the prices there, being so far out of town. We were decidedly down about our plan, we made one last stop at Lowe's on the way home and got a STEAL on a 7 foot Austrian Black Pine. It was marked down to $40 from $80, but it rung up at $25! We also picked up a great big English Laurel for $25. We took them home and hot Arnold (the Austrian pine) in the ground, then nearly KILLED ourselves trying to get the Laurel in. Our own fault, but we wanted the laurel halfway up the hillside in the corner of our property. Do you know how hard it is to plant something on a nearly vertical incline? Man, you spend half your energy just trying to stand upright! Mark dug most of the hole, with me balancing slightly below holding a pot to catch the dirt in, but it was still too shallow. After he was beat, I took over and got the hole deep enough and then we wrestled the easily 75lb bush into it. I mean, this sucker came in a 5.5 gallon pot. It was NOT small. Then we ended up collapsing on the hillside, sitting around the bush, shoveling in the fill dirt by hand. There is a photo on Facebook of me about halfway through this part, but my terribly UNhelpful little helper Leeloo.

After all that, we still had to run to the grocery to get food for the week, and then it was salad for dinner and Netflix.

Monday morning, 158.5 lbs

Food detail:

1 slice ER honey white bread - 65
1/2 tablespoon I can't believe it's not butter - 23
1/2 a Philly Cheese steak (which is called a Pepper Steak deluxe on the Boston's menu) - 261
fresh kettle cooked chips - 140
Caesar salad with fresh homegrown radishes - 184
SC carmel cone ice cream - 170
Pringles 100 pack - 100
Snackwells fudge drizzled chocolate chip cookies 100 cal pak - 100

total = 1041

Day 79

Went a little overboard, but still in the "period zone" so I am forgiving anything this week. Finally got my Thai food that I love so much (Pad See-Ew = wide rice noodles with egg and veggies). I couldn't find the calories for it on my phone app, but it was on the website so I typed it in. Not sure on the serving size, but I had more than what I think is a serving, but mine didn't have chicken in it and the calorie count I found was for one with chicken and since broccolli has fewer calories than chicken, I'm just going to go with it.

Planting trees today!

sugar free pudding - 60

Day 78

Thursday's are always a little better. I did still scream at the dogs and eat the ENTIRE rest of the bag of Kit Kat miniatures, but I did it early in the day, skipped lunch and had a 70 calorie dinner so it worked out ok. Plus, you know, karaoke. Singing always makes me feel better.

OH and I got a custom order for a tiny hat (already made and delivered, I was so excited about it) and then at the bar got an order for 3 more hair clips! Woohoo! Thanks Dino and Nikki!

"This is interesting you should read it" of the day

I was reading this article about "health foods" that are actually bad for you and came across this bit on protein shakes:

People associate protein with muscle, because that's what muscles are mostly made of. However, muscles going into your stomach doesn't translate to muscles coming out of your biceps. Your body breaks down what you eat into tiny components, and rebuilds these components into whatever it thinks it needs.

And to most Americans' annoyance, what it thinks it needs is usually fat.

Again, you have to take a look back at evolution. Your body doesn't know we haven't moved out of the Stone Age. And the only way to convince your body that all this extra protein is supposed to be for making new muscle, and not fat, is to work out like a mofo.

If you are sitting on the couch or in a desk chair all day, your body doesn't give a shit about whether you are giving it carbs or protein, it's going to make what it wants to make out of them. Except that in making protein into carbs (or fat) it dumps the protein's nitrogen and makes it into urea or uric acid which, in large amounts, can screw up your kidneys.

SO MUCH FOR YOUR ATKINS, eh?

According to one expert, even a heavy exerciser would only need to double their protein intake at most. Most people need about 50 to 70 grams a day, depending on how much they weigh, and the average American eats about 100 grams a day as part of their normal diet. If you need more, you can easily get 30 to 60 gram from just a chicken breast.

If you want to lose weight, it might help to replace meals with protein shakes (not add protein shakes to your meals, as some people do) but then you're missing out on the vitamins and nutrients you get from real food, and could run into some trouble in the long term. Ever wondered exactly what scurvy was? Try complete meal replacement and you just might find out.

So whether you're a bodybuilder looking to buff up with minimal effort, or a fatty looking for a magic food substance that doesn't make you any fatter, protein shakes aren't really the answer.

Day 77 - the black mood

Let me start off by stating the obvious. I HATE PERIODS. Not in the normal, "oh how annoying that I have to BLEED for 4 days straight" way, I really hate them. I hate being a woman for this reason. I had a tubal ligation 6 years ago and I still pay for and take birth control pills just so that I only have 4 periods a year. And I still hate them. Mark can't be a big fan of them either because I end up bitching at him more than usual and send him out to the store at 9 o'clock at night to fetch me chocolate. I scream at the dogs all day for making noise or following me around.

I went for a 4.2 mile run after work yesterday after buying new, $20 "athletic" insoles for my running shoes - ran all the way home from Sports Authority - and they SUCK. My feet were KILLING me. Plus I had bruises and abrasions on my inner arms from wearing too short a sleeve with my Camelbak straps. Not to mention my HOUR podcast didn't get me all the way home. And for what? My trick didn't even work. I was hovering at 850 calories for the day and then the chocolate craving hit. Ended up going over and then the scale was mean to me this morning. Not to mention being woken up at 4am with my nose running and realizing the bleeding had started and I was unprepared. And when I finally get back to bed, Mark's stretched out over the whole bed and I have to contend with pointy elbow in my ribs the rest of the night.

Day 76

So there are some days when no matter how hard you try, you just cannot stay on your diet and then there are days when you just fail to give a crap. Yesterday was one of those days. I was doing good until about 2pm when suddenly, there I was eating jelly beans. I know, I know, I said the jelly beans were gone. Well, the GOOD jelly beans were gone, and now I was eating the ones I didn't even LIKE that I had given to my hubby. I thought that would be the end of it, but then we had pasta for dinner with the end of a nice bottle of 06 Paolina, and that DEMANDED chocolate. So I walked to the corner store and got a Hershey bar. That STILL didn't do it. I was quietly plotting to go back to the store when I settled on Rum and tiny blueberry muffins. Sadly, the snacking didn't even stop there. This morning, I know what it was all about with the arrival of my period, but still. That was pretty bad.

Day 75

Had kind of a blah day, a one hour power outage (during which I cleaned the house) and after work picked up some groceries and had Mark drop me off 4 miles from home and ran home. Sadly, it took me over an hour, but on the upside, I have now completed "Gateway to 8k" the podrunner series, all 10 weeks. I realize 4 miles is NOT an 8k, I think they use the timing for someone who runs MUCH faster than I. I will probably start the Freeway to 10k series next, though at this point, it would take me over an hour and a half to run a 10k.

And I'm noticing a pattern. Days when I run, I don't eat all my calories. And the next morning I am lighter....hmmmm.

Day 74

After the week I'd had, I needed a day to do nothing. And I tried. But I'm not very good at doing nothing. So I gathered up some of my nicer jewelry pieces and took them to Be*Mused to see if they wanted to carry them in the store and picked up my monthly check for items that have sold. Then I picked some radishes from my garden, finished a couple sewing projects, played ball with the dogs, and by then it was time for dinner and some quality time with the sofa.

Monday morning, 160.5 lbs. Count down to first menstrual period on diet....any day now. You can tell by the amount of chocolate/sweets in the detail.
