Day 127

WTF??? Perhaps I should not have recalculated my calorie allotment because now all the sudden I'm back UP? How is that fair? So maybe I'm NOT working out enough to say "moderately active"? Yeah, I wanted to run yesterday, but couldn't due to LASER BRAZILIAN appointment (yowza!) but I went to abs class on Wednesday.... is my abs teacher right? Do I have to do cardio EVERY day? Who has time for that? When do you get to live your life? Between work and taking care of the dogs and keeping the house clean and sleeping, that only leaves so many hours a day to live...... and when I do cardio, I have to shower and that will ruin my new hair color :(

I'm cranky pants today. Oh, and my dermatology appointment only told me I'm getting OLD. Thanks.

Day 125

So, it's getting to a point where I have enough calories available, if I don't snack and just have something small for lunch, like a peanut butter sandwich, I can have pretty outrageous things for dinner. Well, outrageous for being on a diet, anyway. We were shopping while hungry last night (dangerous territory) and happened to see in the warm, pre-cooked foods section near the deli where they usually have whole rotisserie chickens and meatloaf they had chicken fried steak. I LOVE me some chicken fried steak. These were a little on the dry side without the gravy (they provided plenty of yummy looking gravy, but I passed on it), but I was able to eat two whole steaks for dinner. I should have had just one, with a LITTLE gravy and some fresh green beans, that would have been much better for me, but I wasn't sure how they would reheat.

And to top that off, I had one of my favorite cookies for dessert. It's really disconcerting to know that I used to eat TWO of those cookies at a sitting now that I have some idea how many calories are in them. I can't be SURE, but they are awful good so I believe the calorie counter that says for their weight, they are almost 400 calories each. Otis Spunkmeyer cookies, my 2nd favorite, are a lot smaller and are 180 each.

Days 121-123 the BBQ Weekend.

So with throwing the BBQ on Saturday, and eating nothing all day until the BBQ started and then eating a cheese burger and a bunch of chips before DEVOURING a half dozen of Colleen's AWESOME jello shots, then going to Suki's and drinking till I blacked out, I don't really have an accurate count for that day, and Sunday's subsequent hangover and not being ABLE to eat until after 4pm after Colleen dyed my hair when I suddenly chowed down all the remaining deviled eggs, 2 hot dogs, the rest of the BBQ chips, all the pita chips and a few of Mark's circus peanut candy, I don't have a count for that day either. All I know is I woke up Sunday morning at 152.1 lbs and this morning I am a massive 155.4lbs. I don't even KNOW what that's about.

Day 120 - where dieter goes to Red Lobster!

So, I saved up some calories and Rachel and I headed over to RL armed with notebooks full of calorie listings of the various menu items we were interested in and cost/benefit ratios of trying the 4-course-meal deal for $15 and came to the conclusion that we would do better ordering a la carte. And we did just that. Her meal came to about $17 and mine a mere $7 because I didn't like the lobster bisque soup so they took it off my bill. So that's $7 for a Diet Coke, a side of mashed potatoes and a side of fresh broccoli. And the 2 free Cheddar Bay Biscuits which were my ENTIRE reason for wanting to go to Red Lobster in the first place. So in that respect, a success. Though not sure the drive to and from Gresham was worth a couple biscuits. Oh well, had to be done.

Day 119 - wherein our dieter goes to the movies and has popcorn!

So, you'll notice that I didn't have a lot of food yesterday, but what I did have was yummy! Right after work we took off and went to the movies (Pirates IV) and I got to pretend I was back in time before the diet and have popcorn and Reese's Pieces. I did have the gal at the concession stand actually measure out the popcorn for me (did you know there are SIX cups of popcorn in a JUNIOR popcorn???) and I actually COUNTED out the Reeses Pieces, but I enjoyed them. I didn't even make it to my limit for the day, but that's ok because I failed to count the soda at the theatre because I had no way of measuring how many sips of Mark's Cherry Coke I had. Probably at least 100 calories worth. And then after we got home I read a book for 3 hours and had a slice of toast.

Saved up calories for going to Book Club - I know, why would I need them for Book Club? Well, because my super-awesome-better-than-your-book-club meets at the Bagdad Theatre and we get a free private screening of the movie they made of the book right after our meeting. And simply walking into a theatre requires a calorie surplus. Fortunately, they didn't have the popcorn maker on, so it wasn't as bad as I was expecting and I didn't go too much over.

Day 117

So I wasn't feeling great yesterday - perhaps a side affect of having eaten burger and fries for dinner Sunday, since I haven't had them in SO long, but not sure. Didn't do myself any favors by picking up schwarma from a food cart either. I was really hoping it would be fabulous, but Mark wouldn't even eat it. And the guy put it in a sandwich. That's NOT what I ordered. When you order "chicken schwarma" why would he assume I wanted it in a pita with tomatoes and lettuce and crap on it? I just wanted roasted chicken! And this chicken was.... weird. It was in rolls. A very unnatural state for chicken. I will not be getting schwarma again from anywhere but Aladdins Cafe. THEY know what I want.

Days 111 and 112

I don't usually miss a day in the middle of the week, sorry about that, I'm just getting a little bored with dieting. On days that I eat the same old thing I'm usually ok, and on days that I eat ANYTHING interesting I usually go over. And strangely days that I exercise, I sometimes go UNDER. Kinda strange. Also depends on if I have anything to do that day. On boring days I may eat more to fill the hours, on days when I go out I may eat more because there's interesting things to eat. Poor Mark is not having fun trying to cook for me - not like we ever ate anything interesting at home to start with, but he doesn't like having to measure things and not using vegetable oil to cook is harder because things don't brown up nicely with cooking spray.

Day 110.... starting to care less

So ever since I was given the calorie bump up, I've been going over more. This is not a good sign. It may take considerably longer than 100 days to lose the next 20 lbs.

Anyway, part of the problem seems to be not being able to get accurate calorie information on the things I'm eating. Eating less pre-packaged things at home leads to greater uncertainty. I refuse to believe that 5 thin slices of Como bread are really 700 calories. The bread is mostly HOLES! Anyway, the package of chocolate bars didn't help, but they are gone now.

My new phone uses an advanced version of my calorie counting app and can barcode scan foods for faster entry and I went to scan the bagels and..... they came up as a cup of water? huh? Guess technology isn't foolproof, LOL.

Day 104

So, I know I went for a run on Monday to finish Week 2 of F210k, but I felt like going again, so I did Week 3 Day 1 after work, and ended it at the grocery store to meet up with Mark and pick up our week's worth of food. By the time we were done we were STARVING and ate 7 oz of veggie fried rice (homemade). Doesn't sound like much, but I've been trying to keep my meals under 300 calories so that I could cover my inevitable snacking.

Well, seeing as how I've been losing more weight on the days I go OVER my calorie allotment, I'm getting a little more slack on that. Especially on days that I exercise. So I guess I should reconfigure my profile to see just how many calories I can eat if I go from a "sedentary" lifestyle to a more moderately active one.

Ok, just went to the website and recalculated, and as it turns out, I should have had the thing set to "lightly active" all along since I am not lying in bed ALL DAY. So it says for "moderately active" (some walking, garage work, house cleaning, child care) that I can eat 1337 calories a day!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!! Dude, for that many, I'll run EVERY day! It's like a huge weight off my shoulders to be granted 300 more a day. Like a whole 4th meal! I dare not even see what it says I can eat if I actually put "active", or I'd go overboard.

Wow, I'm totally going to go eat breakfast now.
